TITLE:                        9-month Assistant Professor (tenure-track)

EFFECTIVE DATE:  Summer or Fall 2012

SALARY:                    Commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Counselor Education or closely related field. License-eligible in NM.

The candidate should be a competent educator with a demonstrated investment in multicultural competence and diversity. The candidate is expected to have an active research program in any counselor education related areas, particularly those areas that are related to NMSU research foci on borderland mental health and education issues; teach graduate and undergraduate courses; and supervise graduate students' practica and research.


New Mexico State University, the state's Land Grant university, is nestled between the Organ Mountains and the Mesilla Valley in sunny Las Cruces. The Counseling & Educational Psychology Department is housed in the College of Education and has a CACREP-accredited MA program in Mental Health Counseling, an APA-accredited Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology, and a NASP-approved School Psychology Ed.S. program.  We seek to employ a faculty member who will work collaboratively to promote the mission of the department and potentially assume future coordination and leadership of the counseling program.
