Position Announcement - Assistant Director of Accreditation Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) Summary: The CACREP office is conducting a search for the new position of Assistant Director for Accreditation. CACREP is a specialized accrediting agency that accredits master's and doctoral degree programs in counseling. CACREP is responsible for providing leadership in the development of program preparation standards and administering the accreditation function. CACREP is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Major Responsibilities: The Assistant Director of Accreditation will be responsible for managing the accreditation review process. This will include, but not be limited to: * working with programs pursuing CACREP accreditation, * synthesizing information gathered from self-study reviews into letter form for dissemination to counselor education faculty and higher education administrators, * working with trained volunteers who are scheduled for on-site visits, * insuring that accreditation reviews are completed in a timely manner, * maintaining accurate records and preparing reports; and * consulting regularly with the Director of Accreditation concerning accreditation and training issues. The Assistant Director will also represent CACREP to the community at large by providing information about the CACREP accreditation process. This will be accomplished through phone calls, emails, website postings, attendance and/or presentations at accreditation meetings, workshops and conferences. The Assistant Director will also be expected to contribute to the planning, management, policy and procedure development for all areas of CACREP's accreditation program. The Assistant Director will report directly to the Director of Accreditation and will work collaboratively with all staff involved in CACREP's day-to-day operations. Some travel and meeting planning will be required. Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess a graduate degree, have strong analytical skills, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to work both independently and as a member of a team, and be highly organized and detail oriented. Preferred experience includes a background in counseling, accreditation, or higher education; knowledge of student learning outcomes in higher education; ability to work effectively with volunteers; experience in training; and technological expertise. Annual salary is commensurate with experience and credentials. CACREP offers a competitive benefits package.
