Hello:
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Creativity Activity offers several internal awards programs throughout the year to support the research, scholarship, and creative activity of faculty, staff, and students.
Could you please share this information with those in your departments?

A few items of note:
-There will be two cycles for the Baker Fund this year (Fall and Spring).
-The Undergraduate Conference Travel Fund is available for students to attend conferences and other venues.
-OURC and Baker workshops are scheduled for applicants to learn about the program guidelines and proposal best practices.

Program with deadlines this Fall include:

Ohio University Research Committee (OURC)
Competitive awards of up to $8,000 provide seed money for faculty and staff to pursue new research and creative activity projects.  Priority is for new faculty and staff or established faculty pursuing projects that are a clear departure from previous research foci.

Deadlines:  Thursday, October 4, 2012, 4:00 p.m.; and Thursday, January 31, 2013, 4:00 p.m.
Workshops:  Thursday, September 6, 2012, 12:00- 1:00 p.m.; Friday, September 7, 2012, 10:00-11:00 a.m.; 301U Alden Library; light refreshments provided

Baker Fund Awards Committee
Competitive awards of up to $12,000 to faculty and staff support research, scholarship, and creative activity. The Committee seeks to support projects which are near completion and can hopefully be brought to full completion with the assistance of an award.

Deadlines:  NEW! Thursday, October 11, 2012, 4:00 p.m.; and Thursday, February 14 2013, 4:00 p.m.

Graduate Student Senate: Grant for Original Work
Competitive awards to graduate students to conduct original research, scholarship or creative work. Semester deadlines. Maximum award $750.
