Assistant Professor in Rehabilitation Counseling,
Department of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies
Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Southern University is in Baton Rouge, the Capital City of Louisiana with a population of more than 600,000 Baton Rouge serves as a cultural, political, educational, and industrial center for South Louisiana.
The Baton Rouge campus is located on Scott's Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in the northern section of the city of Baton Rouge. The campus encompasses 512 acres of beautiful moss-covered oaks, with an agricultural experimental station on an additional 312-acre site, located 5 miles north of the main campus. The campus boasts a warm, student-friendly environment supported by faculty and staff committed to assisting students on their paths to success.

The Department of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies offer an undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Services and a graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling (both on campus and online). The graduate program offers specialization in Assistive Technology (AT), Rehabilitation of Ethnic Minorities (REM), and Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment (VEWA).

Currently, the department has two Long Term Training Grants, one Comprehensive System of Personnel Development Grant, and one Rehabilitation Capacity Building Grant from Rehabilitation Services Administration, U. S. Department of Education. Also, it has a Minority Disability (MIND) Alliance for Student with Disabilities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) from National Science Foundation.

Status:Tenure tract
Deadline: Until the position is filled.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses on campus and online, supervise field experience students, supervise student research, advise students, write grant proposals, and engage in scholarly research and publications.

Qualifications:

 *   Ph.D, in Rehabilitation.
 *   A CRC, or a CVE, or an ATP.
 *   Must have experience in providing vocational rehabilitation services to consumers with disabilities.
 *   Experience in teaching on campus and online courses.
 *   Expertise in Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment or Assistive Technology.
 *   Proficiency in conducting research in rehabilitation
