The Department of Counseling, Psychology, and Special Education, housed in Duquesne University’s School of Education, seeks to fill two visiting professor positions in Counselor Education. These 9-month positions will start August 13, 2012 and end May 11, 2013. Responsibilities will include graduate-level teaching, research, student advisement, and clinical and dissertation supervision.

> Teaching experience at the university level. 
> An interest in sharing knowledge and experiences in counselor education. 
> Experience in schools or school counseling.

> Applicants with experience in urban education are especially welcome.

> Duquesne University’s School of Education faculty shares a distinct identity, which is manifested through Educational Leadership, Scholarship for and with Schools, and a Spiritan tradition of caring. The Counselor Education Program is nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Candidates with experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited program who are certified as a school counselor or hold counselor licensure, have three years of experience as a professional school counselor or as a professional counselor in relevant community settings, have a strong professional identity as a counselor, and have a doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program are preferred. Additionally, university-level teaching, supervision, and leadership experiences are viewed positively. We are committed to enhancing the culture of the School of Education by continuing to increase the diversity of our people, programs, and curricula.
