Monmouth University is less than one mile from the Atlantic Ocean on the beautiful New Jersey shore and near New York City and Philadelphia. We offer a 60 credit MS in Mental Health Counseling (CACREP accredited) and a 30 credit MA in Psychological Counseling.



Job Position Title: Specialist Professor
Department: Psychological Counseling
Position Available: 9-01-2012


Requirements:

Familiarity with MS Word 2007
Familiarity of MS Excel 2007
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Must be interested in community relations/field placements


Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or a closely related degree.
Licensed, or license-eligible, Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey (LPC).
Evidence of ability to teach core courses in a CACREP-accredited graduate counseling program, for example psychopathology, community counseling, counseling theories and techniques, tests and measures, group counseling, human development, or career counseling. Ability to teach online/ hybrid courses is desirable.
Demonstrated or substantial promise of effectiveness as a teacher and mentor, and in student guidance at the graduate level. Ability to work constructively with members of the University community. Evidence of work with diverse populations.


Preferred Qualifications:


Prior academic experience on the graduate level. ACS preferred, NCC preferred.
