This is a twelve-month position. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of graduate-level courses in Mental Health Counseling; advise, mentor, and supervise students as they move through their clinical placements; engage in activities that contribute to scholarship within the profession, including clinical practice; and provide service to the graduate programs, the department, and the College. The sucessful candidate will also contribute to the CACREP accreditation process. An earned doctorate in Counselor Education is required; candidates who are ABD may also be considered. The successful candidate must be either New York State licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have at least three years of clinical and/or teaching experience at the graduate level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Experience and/or interest in teaching in an online format is preferred. The College offers its master's degree program in Mental Health Counseling at its Rochester and Amherst Campuses, which provide academic preparation for students who wish to pursue licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State (LMHC). The program is designed for working adults, and classes are offered in a weekend format. Responsibilities will include teaching courses at the graduate level, advising, supervising students as they move through their clinical placements, engaging in professional development activities, and providing service to the College.
