The special issue of the Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling will be published in Fall 2013. The purpose of this special issue is to develop an international perspective on how families are affected following acquired brain injury, due to such causes as motor vehicle accidents, strokes, assaults, and with military personnel, improvised explosive devices. Further, the issue will address new innovations in how families are supported through technology, government programs, and evidence-based individual and group counseling interventions. Given differences globally with injury etiology, veteran support, social service funding, and familial cultural values, the issue will seek the work of authors from Asia, Oceania, North America, South America, Africa, and Europe. The Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling will accept empirical articles describing quantitative or qualitative studies, as well as policy reviews, comprehensive literature analyses, and agency programs (both governmental and non-governmental). Each manuscript should be approximately 25 double-spaced, typed pages in length (including references, tables, and figures). All manuscripts submitted for consideration for publication will be processed through the standard Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling manuscript peer review procedures described at: https://www.australianacademicpress.com.au/journals/details/15/Australian_Journal_of_Rehabilitation_Counselling<http://ncre.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d5a2da3c1a53350f31f65bdb3&id=769a841eb7&e=6285364a67 > Manuscripts should be submitted to the Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling Submission Manager at https://www.australianacademicpress.com.au/cup_jsm/<http://ncre.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d5a2da3c1a53350f31f65bdb3&id=3d7d871370&e=6285364a67 > The title page should indicate the manuscript is being considered for publication in the special issue.
