Show, by your actions, that you choose peace over war, freedom over oppression, voice over silence, service over self-interest, respect over advantage, cooperation over competition, action over passivity, diversity over uniformity, and justice over all.

Subject: Upcoming Distance Credentialed Counselor trainings

Dear NCC,

The need for distance counseling services is growing. The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), offers the Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC). The required training for the DCC is conducted by ReadyMinds, a leader in distance counseling. The DCC training program is available anytime online; however, ReadyMinds has several in-person DCC trainings coming up this spring.

The hands-on training provided in the DCC workshop will greatly benefit counselors interested in e-mail and telephone exchanges with new or existing clients. Topics include establishing a counselor-client relationship over distance, determining counselor and client suitability to distance counseling, confidentiality strategies, legal and ethical guidelines, and standards for distance counseling.

This NBCC-approved workshop is worth up to 15 continuing education hours toward the 100 hours required to recertify your National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential. As an NCC, you are eligible for a $125 discount on the $595 training registration fee.

We hope to see you at one of these upcoming two-day training workshops:

What Counselors Are Saying About the DCC Training

"I found the DCC online course really informative and full of resources. The course provided me with guidelines for putting distance counseling into practice. I'm thankful for the practical information. I'm so glad this was provided as an online course. It gave me the opportunity to really look into some of the online resources without time constraints. I think I got more out of it that way. Thanks for all of it." - Linda Richardson, MA, NCC, LPC

"What a PHENOMENAL training! The course provided invaluable information on using encryption to protect confidentiality, how to maintain appropriate relationship boundaries, and how to screen clients for suitability of receiving these modes of delivery. It was by far the best workshop I've ever attended!" - Debra D., M.Ed., LPC
