As editor, I believe the move to Springer Publishing is critical to the journal's development and enhances the visibility of the journal in four important ways. First, the move increases the journal's national and international presence. Springer is currently developing a marketing plan to increase the journal circulation, which means more visibility for the scholarship published in journal. Second, Springer provides the journal with an electronic platform that is more compatible with the changing journal and library environment. The electronic platform significantly increase library access and allows for easy retrieval of specific articles. Third, as editor I am actively working with Springer to establish and impact factor for the journal. This is a long and comprehensive process that will take place over the next five years but is critical for obtaining recognition of the quality scholarship published. Finally, starting with Volume 27, Issue 1, we will maintain a quarterly publication schedule that is critical to enhancing the status and prestige of the journal. Beginning with this first issue from Springer we are excited to announce that some significant changes will be made to the overall look and feel of the journal, including a new cover design. Overall, the move to Springer is a significant step forward in increasing the overall visibility of journal.
