The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is part of the Department of Applied Psychology, which also includes degree programs in Marriage and Family Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling, and a certificate programs in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Applied Behavior Analysis. Specific Responsibilities Responsibilities include teaching courses in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and teaching core courses in other masters level programs. All faculty members are expected to participate fully on the faculty team, assist with advising, be active in scholarship, and participate in service to the profession (at local, state, national, or international levels) and to the university. Educational and Experiential Requirements and Credentials An earned doctorate (ABD candidates may be considered) in counselor education (CACREP-accredited program preferred), eligible for licensure as a mental health counselor in New Hampshire, and at least three- to five-years professional clinical experience, and have graduate teaching experience. Successful candidates must be able to develop and sustain a program of scholarship in counseling or counselor education. Preferred Qualifications/Areas of Interest Substance abuse and addictions counseling, career counseling, multicultural counseling, online teaching experience, trauma-informed treatment modalities, research and program evaluation, and/or assessment. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is committed to social justice, experiential teaching, clinical training, and scholarship, using creative, progressive, and applied approaches. Our students attend classes one or two days each week, combine ANE with work, internship, and family life. ANE has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout New England who serve as our supervisors and employers. Antioch New England masters students are typically adult learners who commute to campus for classes one-two days per week from all over the New England area while our doctoral students come from such diverse places as Turkey and Texas.
