The department is home to two CACREP accredited master’s degree programs in Community and School Counseling, along with a CORE accredited master’s degree program in Rehabilitation Counseling and a CSHSE accredited undergraduate Counseling and Human Services program (with a Rehabilitation Services concentration option). The department aims to recruit candidates from diverse backgrounds who share with us a commitment to high quality teaching, scholarship, service, and dedication to students’ ongoing professional development. This position is for a counselor educator with counseling and/or human service experience. Applicants with demonstrated interest in developing and delivering online content desired. Besides teaching in the CSHSE accredited undergraduate Counseling and Human Services program, the successful candidate will also have the ability to teach core courses at the graduate level, including supervision of counselors in training. Responsibilities include a 21-credit workload, undergraduate teaching, and course support for the graduate program, research and publication, and student advisement/mentoring. Individuals who possess the experience to teach core undergraduate counseling and human services courses are particularly encouraged to apply. Professional, campus, and community service, as well as pursuit of an active research agenda are necessary for promotion and tenure. Required: earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a closely related field (Note: ABD with completion by August 2013 will be considered); relevant experience as a counselor and/or human services provider; familiarity with the National Organization of Human Services, and previous teaching experience. Preferred: graduate of a CACREP-accredited program, and possession of, or eligibility for, additional credentials (including the HS-BCP as well as at least one of the following: NCC, CRC, LPC).
