School Counseling Faculty Position starting 2013-14

The Department of Counseling and Educational Development in the School of Education at UNCG seeks applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor tenure track position beginning August 2013, in a nationally ranked program that is fully accredited by CACREP. We are seeking a colleague with a School Counseling specialization to assist in providing leadership for the school counseling program.

The ability to teach CACREP core area is highly desirable. Members of diverse populations are strongly encouraged to apply. The position requires a doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, and demonstrated commitment to research and scholarship, professional service and leadership, and effective teaching and supervision. The position involves teaching in both the master's and doctoral programs, working with doctoral research projects, pursing external funding, coordination and outreach activities, and program development. Candidates should have, or be eligible for, relevant counseling credentials (e.g., LPC, NCC, school counselor licensure).

Review of candidates with begin November 15, 2012, and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, names and contact information for three references, copies of recent publications, and a brief teaching/supervision portfolio (if available), including experience using technology in the classroom.

The Department has 11 full-time faculty members and offers MS and EdS programs in school counseling, clinical mental health counseling, couple and family counseling, college counseling/student development in higher education, and a PhD in counseling and counselor education, as well as several post-masters' certificates in specialty areas. All master's and doctoral programs are fulltime, and all are CACREP accredited. The Department houses a state-of-the-art Counseling and Consulting Clinic with digital recording and observational facilities. The Department partners with a statewide college and career planning service (CFNC.org). The Department has been ranked consistently in the Top 10 in the US News and World Report rankings of counseling programs. UNCG has been ranked among the "Great Colleges to Work For" by the Chronicle of Higher Education and was honored with the inaugural NBCC Professional Identify Award.
