        REMINDER: OSCA Seeking Applicants for Awards, Grants and Graduate Scholarships!



OSCA is committed to supporting excellence amongst our members. To help us achieve this mission, we are offering the following programs to help us recognize those doing great work for students and school counseling. Please read below to learn more and to find out how to be considered. We have revamped the selection process for these programs and all three have a deadline of April 8, 2013!

OSCA 2013 AWARD NOMINATIONS

OSCA Awards provide an opportunity for professional school counselors to recognize and show appreciation for the accomplishments of school counselors, counselor educators, administrators and legislators.  We urge you to look at the categories below and consider submitting a form on behalf of someone who deserves special recognition. The deadline to submit award nominations is April 8, 2013.

OSCA 2013 GRANTS PROGRAM

OSCA Grants provide financial resources for school counselors who desire to implement counseling projects during the 2013-2014 year that support student success.  Proposals that articulate their goals through data, plan a mindful intervention to address a specific concern and have a clear method of measuring the impact upon children will be considered. OSCA intends to give out $10,000 worth of grants so be sure to apply. Grants will be awarded for up to $1000. The deadline to apply is April 8, 2013.

OSCA GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

OSCA believes in the benefit of supporting the future of the school counseling profession in Ohio and has committed to help quality school counseling graduate students fulfill their educational goals by offering two (2) $1000 OSCA Graduate Student Scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded to deserving school counseling graduate students who meet the following qualifications:

 *   currently enrolled in a master's school counselor program in the state of Ohio (note that students enrolled in online programs are not eligible to apply unless the online program is run through an Ohio institution)
 *   has completed at least six (6) semester hours of graduate work (note that students enrolled in their final semester of study and preparing to graduate are not eligible to apply)
 *   maintains an active student membership with OSCA

Applications must be postmarked by April 8, 2013.
