On Tuesday, September 9, at 2 PM EDT, Dr. Stephen D. Kennedy and Mr. Jared S. Rose will discuss how to use social media as a professional counselor. Social media can help you to share updates with stakeholders and educate them about your role. In this webinar, we will review common types of social media and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using each type in a professional context. The presenters will provide strategies for creating effective messages to share with the clients, prospective clients, and other stakeholders who "follow" you on social media. Because use of social media is addressed in the 2014 ACA Code of Ethics, we will discuss updates to the code and the relevant ethical implications. We will talk about the importance of differentiating between personal and professional use of social media and consider how to establish appropriate boundaries.
