In celebration of CSIs 30th anniversary, CSI has been provided with 25 American Counseling Association (ACA) poster sessions for the annual conference scheduled for March 12-15, 2014 in Orlando, Florida. Online proposals from CSI chapters will be accepted through Monday, September 11, 2014 at 5:00 pm EST using the online CSI Poster Proposal Submission Form. Primary presenters must be student members of ACA and CSI. Chapter Faculty Advisors, other faculty, or alumni ACA/CSI members qualify to serve as co-presenters. Poster Session Themes This year, we are targeting poster submissions covering chapter initiatives that aim to develop members in the following areas: Enhancing Counselor Community Engagement through Professional Advocacy Leadership and Standards: Promoting Professional Identity Professional Identity and Advocacy Please note: Posters must have relevance for a wide range of ACA attendees, not just CSI members. This notation will be a key consideration in judging proposals. Poster session presenters are encouraged to review the three CSI-sponsored sessions and develop posters to amplify each of the themes. Submission Requirements Members who are interested in submitting a poster proposal will need to: Identify a title and one of the three themes on which the poster is based Write a 75-word poster description for the ACA program Write a concise paragraph, in less than 200 words, describing: the poster presentation and its relation to the chosen theme, and the poster's relevance to a wide ACA audience Submit name, address, email address, phone number, ACA and CSI membership numbers, and experience for the Chapter Faculty Advisor, primary presenter and co-presenters (up to four presenters total). All presenters must be active members of CSI and ACA. Submissions will be accepted electronically using the online CSI Poster Session Submission Form. All submissions must be received by Monday, September 11, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Posters that were previously presented on CSI Day may not be re-submitted. Poster submissions will be rated for relevance, clarity, and suitability for a wide ACA audience. The proposals selected for submission will be notified as soon as possible after the deadline and no later than October 10th. ACA provides boards upon which poster materials can be pinned or taped. All programs will be listed in the Honolulu conference bulletin along with all other refereed conference programs. Review the guidelines for preparing poster presentations as you develop your poster.
