[Counselor_Educ] Call for Submissions - ASGW Group Activity Book on Substance Abuse

You are invited to contribute to ASGW's most recent addition to the popular Share Your Favorite Activity series titled, Group Work Experts Share Their Favorite Activities for the Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse.

Slated for publication in Spring 2015, this refereed publication will include psychoeducational and therapeutic group activities that can be used by skilled and novice practitioners working with clients with Substance Use Disorders.

We are seeking group activities for the following sections and topics:

SECTION 1: SUBSTANCE ABUSE ACROSS THE LIFESPAN
This section will focus on Psycho-educational and Therapeutic Group Activities that are useful in the treatment of substance use disorder at different phases of life.

I.                   Substance Use Disorder in Youth and Young Adults

II.                Substance Use Disorder in Adulthood

III.             Substance Use in Later Life
SECTION 2:  SPECIFIC SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT GROUPS
This section will focus on Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for specific types of substance abuse treatment.

IV.             Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Alcohol Addiction

V.                Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Opioid Addiction

VI.             Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Minority Culture Clients

VII.          Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Pregnant Women

VIII.       Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Adult Children of Alcoholics

IX.             Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Veterans and Military Personnel

X.                Psychoeducational and Therapeutic Group Activities for Sober Living and Relapse Prevention
Each activity will require to be presented in a standardized format and will be no more than 4-6 pages.
