Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited university (preferred) with a concentration in School or Clinical Mental Health Counseling; professional identity as that of a counseling professional (e.g., licenses, certifications, and/or other professional credentials); evidence of commitment to the profession of counseling (e.g. leadership in counseling organizations, evidence of successful counseling work experience); evidence of successful college teaching experience; evidence of scholarly productivity(e.g. research in counseling field). The successful candidate must have an ability to use technology as a teaching tool and will have demonstrated the ability to teach and work with persons from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities: Teaching, advising, supervising practicum and internship students; serving on departmental, college and university committees; providing service to the university and community; publishing in refereed journals; conducting scholarly presentations at professional conferences. Expectation to secure external funding to support research endeavors. Successful teaching in the eight CACREP content areas, including classes in assessment and human sexuality is preferred. The Counselor Education Program within the Department of Leadership and Professional Studies is CACREP and CORE accredited and offers the Master of Science degree program with tracks in School, Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation. The department also houses graduate programs in School Psychology, and Educational Leadership. Opportunities for cross-disciplinary teaching, research, and service are encouraged.
