If you know any colleagues/peers in the community that may be interested in this, please respond to Lt Col Lowrey at kathryn.l.lowrey.mil at mail.mil or (614) 336-7002. This training is targeted for "civilian" community providers that don't have a lot of experience in working with service members/veterans but want to engage more with this population. Thank you. The mission of this program is to create an opportunity for licensed Ohio behavioral health providers to receive specific evidence-based training that will help them meet the needs of the state's service members and their families. Providers receiving the training will then be listed on a comprehensive provider registry that will identify them as having completed this training in military issues. The registry will serve as a valuable resource for service members, families, and referring professionals in and outside the military. The training is free to participants, and continuing education units (CEUs) may be earned at no cost. For complete details see the attached brochure and visit http://www.starproviders.org. The training is divided into three tiers. Tier One training, which includes an optional online session and a required one daylong classroom session, provides an introduction to military culture, information about the deployment cycle and the effect of the deployment cycle on service members and their families. Register today for one of the upcoming Tier One training opportunities: Dayton: April 1 Toledo area: April 15 Cincinnati: April 29 Akron: May 20 Columbus: June 3 We hope you will take advantage of this important opportunity. It's an excellent chance to increase your knowledge, obtain CEUs and gain an increased ability to serve those who have served our country. Thank you.
