I wanted to touch base with you in hopes that you could forward this email to the graduate students in your program. The 2016 NCACES conference in Bloomington, MN is just around the corner, October 20-22, and in addition to the numerous educational sessions scheduled, I wanted to point out sessions and opportunities available to graduate students. On Thursday, October 20 there will be a graduate student meeting from 4:45-5:45 where a conversation will be facilitated by the ACES Graduate Student Representative and myself. The conversation will focus on what ACES and NCACES hope to accomplish in the upcoming year, while also providing a forum for students to discuss their needs and concerns and see how ACES or NCACES may be able to assist with these concerns. On Friday, October 21 there will be a graduate student research symposium from 5:30-6:30 where graduate students will have a chance to share their research ideas to connect and network with fellow graduate students to begin building research teams and connections. Current and future research topics can be discussed. On Friday, October 21 there will be an innovation hour focusing on the graduate student to faculty transitions panel from 1:30-2:30 pm in the Palm 2 room at the conference hotel. Lastly, we are hosting a graduate student reception on Thursday, October 20 from 8:00-10:00 pm in the Palm 1 room at the conference hotel. There will be appetizers and lemonade served. In addition to the graduate student opportunities at NCACES, I wanted to provide my contact information in case students have any questions or concerns for me, about ACES, or NCACES. The best way to reach me is by email at michael.d.bobbitt at wmich.edu <mailto: michael.d.bobbitt at wmich.edu > In my role as Graduate Student Representative, my hope is to provide a voice to any student questions or concerns. Please don't hesitate to contact me. Michael Bobbitt -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
