Position Description: This position plays a key role in coordination of the treatment team. The Foster Care Family Counselors take primary responsibility for implementation of the case plan, which is developed by the team under the supervision of the Foster Care Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor. The Foster Care Family Counselor provides support and consultation to youth in care, families of youth in care, treatment foster parents, and other treatment team members relative to their role as described in the case plan. The Foster Care Clinician coordinate and links children/families with needed services available within the community and/or at YAS. The Foster Care Family Counselor is responsible for monitoring assigned foster homes and foster caregivers and for ensuring compliance with ODJFS. Due to the nature of foster care-giving and due to the importance of the Foster Care Family Counselor in supporting youth in care and foster caregivers, it is expected that the Foster Care Family Counselor will maintain a flexible schedule which may include some evening and weekend availability. The Foster Care Family Counselor is expected to fulfill on-call duties as scheduled by the Foster Care Program Director. Minimum Qualifications: LSW, LISW, PC, or PCC required. Interpersonal skills, judgment, flexibility and commitment are essential to the position, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule. Valid driver’s license required. Automobile insurance with minimum liability amounts, as specified by agency policy, required. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Human Services and two (2) years related experience preferred.
