Please see below for a detailed list of opportunities and application guidelines. We hope that you and/or your students will consider applying for these funding opportunities. In order to qualify for an OCA Grant you: - Must be a full time counselor practicing in the state of Ohio or counselor educator in the state of Ohio OR applicant must be a full-time masters or doctoral student pursuing a degree, license, and career in counseling in the state of Ohio. - Must be a member of the OCA (membership dues current through the sponsored event or conference). - Only students may apply for the student research grant. The Grants Committee will consider: - Applicant's involvement in OCA (leadership, volunteer history, and/or term of membership, etc.). - The applicant's stated goals that they hope to accomplish with proposed funding. One only grant will be awarded per person per calendar year. Awardees must return all receipts and a one-page statement describing educational, networking, and other events attended and how these events addressed their goals within 14 days of the event. OCA Grant Application Process 1) To apply for any of the below grants, please complete the attached form below and send it to the OCA Grants Committee Chair, Dr. Madeline Clark ( madeline.clark at utoledo.edu <mailto: madeline.clark at utoledo.edu >). 2) If necessary, attached additional required forms to your email, depending on the grant applied (e.g., additional documentation for research grants). 3) Submit all grant applications and other necessary materials by September 1st, 2017. Grants Available for 2017-18 A) Four ACA Annual Conference Grants April 26-29th, 2018 in Atlanta, GA Grant consists of $1,500 for conference registration and travel. Receipts must be provided as well as a one-page report of educational, networking, and other events attended within 14 days of return. Four grants will be awarded by September 31, 2017 (Advanced Registration ends 2/15/18). B) Ten OCA Legislative Advocacy Day Grants April 2018 (date TBD) in downtown Columbus. Grant consists of ten awards of free registration for any OCA member to attend the day of training, advocacy, and education ($20 for students and $45 for professionals). D) Five Tim Luckhaupt AOCC Grants November 8-10, 2017 Hyatt Regency Columbus Grant consists of $1,000 for conference registration and travel. Receipts must be provided as well as a one-page report of educational, networking, and other events attended within 14 days of return. Five grants will be awarded by September 30, 2017. E) Five AOCC Leadership Development Institute November 8, 2017 Hyatt Regency Columbus Grant consists of $500 for conference registration and travel. Attendance of the LDI and at least one other day of the Conference is required. Article for the OCA Newsletter is required upon completion of the course. Five grants will be awarded by September 30, 2017. F) Four OCA Student Research Grants Awarded at OCA Conference, November 8, 2017 Hyatt Regency Columbus Grant consists of up to $5,000 for student research (to include dissertations/theses). In addition to the OCA Grant Application form, applicants are required to submit: 1) A brief research proposal (3-4 pages single-spaced). 2) A budget outlining how grant funding will be utilized. 3) A brief statement summarizing how the research furthers the mission of OCA. 4) A copy of the applicant's curriculum vita.
