Congratulations to Dr. Tamarine Foreman who is the new President-Elect for the Ohio Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (2022-2023). Dr. Foreman is upholding our Ohio University Counselor Education tradition of service and leadership in the counseling profession.


Dr. Tamarine Foreman is a Counselor Educator, Supervisor, and Counselor dedicated to helping and supporting all people explore, engage, and sustain wellness. She has been a member of Ohio's counseling profession for more than 17 years. As a professional counselor, with a degree from the University of Dayton, she provided counseling services at the Buckeye Ranch, Parenthesis Family Advocates, Summit Academy, and in private practice. She then earned her doctoral degree in counseling and counselor education from UNC-Greensboro.



As an Associate Professor of Counselor Education at Ohio University, Dr. Foreman focuses on creating a student-centered learning community grounded in trauma informed care. Dr. Foreman serves as the current Program Coordinator. Previously she served as Practicum and Internship Coordinator, Regional Cohort Facilitator, and Chapter Faculty Advisor for the Alpha Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. Dr. Foreman has presented at local, state, and national conferences and written on vicarious traumatization, post-traumatic growth, supervision, creativity, and wellness. Dr. Foreman has also served as a reviewer for counseling, supervision, and education journals.



Dr. Foreman's leadership and service to the profession include her current position as OCA Parliamentarian and past President of the Southeast Chapter of OCA. In addition to these roles, Dr. Foreman is a member of the Southeast Trauma Informed Collaborative. As an engaged counselor educator, Dr. Foreman focuses on the interrelated and interconnected areas of teaching, research, and service to inspire commitment to self-care, and establish collaborations to further advance trauma informed knowledge, wellness, and longevity of the counseling profession.
