You are invited to participate in a qualitative study that explores recent Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program graduates’ perceptions of their counseling self-efficacy (CSE) development during the field/internship phase of their counselor training. In order to participate, you must have earned your master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through a CACREP accredited institution, and have recently graduated from your program within the last year (0-12 months). I have a personal interest in helping counseling students and novice professional counselors develop confidence in their abilities to counsel clients, which is also referred to as counseling self-efficacy (CSE). If you want to share more about your own lived experiences with developing CSE during field/internship this is great opportunity for you! Your participation in this study will allow for recent CMHC graduates’ voices to be heard about their experiences with developing confidence in their abilities to counsel clients during field/internship. In addition, your participation will help counselor educators and site supervisors to make meaningful adjustments to counselor education curriculum and/or internship training experiences in the future to better support students’ professional development. Participants in this qualitative study can expect to: * Participate in a video-recorded 60-90-minute semi-structured virtual interview via Zoom in which you will be asked 12 open-ended questions related to your lived experiences with counseling self-efficacy development during your field/internship experience. * Have the opportunity to review your interview transcript for accuracy after your interview is completed. * Have the opportunity to share your feedback, thoughts, and recommendations with me via email about the themes I identified in your interview. * Have the opportunity to win a $25 Amazon eGift Card in a randomized drawing after you share your feedback with me about the themes from your interview. Clinical Mental Health Counseling program alumni who graduated within the last 0-12 months from a CACREP accredited program who are interested in participating can click on the link below to review the online informed consent form. If you have any questions about the study or the informed consent form, please email me at scpcc at iup.edu. https://iup.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_56nvX0Nn0rlMjwG If you know anyone who recently graduated from a CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program who may be interested in participating in this study, please forward this email to them or provide me with their contact information.
