Be the First to Know: New ACA Certificate Series
We're excited to announce a new virtual training series led by ACA President Christine Suniti Bhat, PhD, LPC, LSC, aimed at supporting the professional development of ACA members and advancing the quality of youth counseling. The series includes eight sessions focusing on the counseling needs and evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents. Participants will gain vital knowledge and skills to address current issues impacting children and adolescents today. After completing all sessions, participants can receive the ACA Certificate in Counseling Interventions and Evidence-Based Treatment for Specific Issues with Children and Youth. This professional development series and certificate will be free to ACA members (until June 30, 2025). Sign up to be notified when registration opens. Sign up at the link under Item #5 below.

ICYMI: Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Votes to Require Georouting 988 Calls

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2024, the FCC approved rules requiring all U.S. wireless carriers to implement georouting for calls to 988. This will connect callers with their closest 988 call center, allowing individuals to access local mental health support and resources. It will not share callers'exact location.
