Description: The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) seeks a
dynamic individual to provide visionary leadership and
outstanding service as the Director of the LGBTQ Resource Office. The
Resource Office provides services and programs to
support educational, social and developmental needs of lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students on the UIS
campus. The Director will be an active service provider, will supervise
staff and office operations and act as a resource, consultant, and
liaison to the campus community. Requirements include: a Master’s Degree
with three to five years of full time professional experience in
higher education working with programs for lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students, experience in
crisis response, and an in-depth understanding of LGBTQ issues and
their intersection with other aspects of identity including race/ethnicity,
social class, gender, physical ability. UIS values a collaborative
approach to advocacy that is inclusive of all identities, expressions,
institutional roles and perspectives, and administrative obligations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate such qualities
through prior experience, professional demeanor, and written and

Collaborate with and serve as a resource to other campus groups in

present campus-wide presentations on relevant topics. Provide
educational resource materials to individuals and groups. Develop,
provide and deliver training opportunities for students. Maintain
