will serve a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment beginning fall semester
2011. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and background.

in counseling and an undergraduate minor in counseling associate studies. The
Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs
(CACREP) has conferred accreditation on the following tracks in the counseling
program at UNT: school counseling, college and university counseling, community
counseling, and the Ph.D. in counseling. The program recently has discontinued
admissions to the community counseling track of study and has implemented a
clinical mental health counseling track.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

first in the nation to receive the Association for Counselor Education and
Supervision's Outstanding Program Award and earned that recognition again in
2000. The Counseling Program faculty also received the 2010 ACES &#8220;Publication
in Counselor Education and Supervision&#8221; Award for their landmark book, <i>The
Professional Counselor: Portfolio, Competencies, Performance Guidelines and
Assessment</i> (4th edition) &#8211; and won the same award for their 2004 3<sup>rd</sup>
edition of that book. Since 1998 when <i>U.S. News and World Report</i> began
ranking counseling and counseling psychology programs housed in colleges of
education, the&nbsp;UNT Counseling Program ranked seven times among the top 20
programs nationally; for 2008-2009, the program was ranked 15<sup>th</sup> in
the nation and 1<sup>st</sup> in Texas.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Counselor in Texas. Preferred qualifications include: (1) a record of effective
teaching, supervision, and professional activity, (2) preparation to contribute
to one or more specialty areas such as couple and family, career, school, or
addictions counseling, and (3) licensure as a Professional Counselor. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
