Winston Salem State University School of Education and Human Performance,
Department of Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Professional Studies
invites applications for tenure track associate professor position in
Rehabilitation Counseling Program (Position Number: 6084-0000-0000-126).
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must posses earned doctorate in Rehabilitation Counselor Education
or a related field from an accredited university program. The candidate must
have CRC certification and be eligible for LPC license in the state of North
Carolina within year. The candidate must have the following: evidence of
effective teaching and evidence of scholarly activities and research; teaching
experience at master's level with at least 5 years of experience; evidence of
sponsored research or support for scholarship or expertise by relevant
industry; evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to
accomplish organizational goals; evidence of online teaching experience;
evidence of ability to use instructional technology and distance education
modes; evidence providing clinical supervision to counseling trainees; and
leadership in professional organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with one or more of the following areas: experience in the
State-Federal Vocational Rehabilitation system, private rehabilitation,
rehabilitation administration, school to work transition, deafness, mental
health, or substance abuse. Evidence of grant writing experience; evidence
working with multicultural student and client populations; and evidence of
professional and scholarly productivity in refereed journals.
Duties:
Duties include teaching graduate courses; Participation in or support of
development of opportunities for students to gain practical experience such
as: internships, clinical participation, research exposure, and service
learning;
Academic advising of graduate students; and departmental and university
service; Participation in scholarly activities and research; and the
development and implementation of sponsored research activities.
University:
Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), an historically Black, regional,
comprehensive, liberal arts university is one of the 17 constituent institutions
of the University of North Carolina. Located in the Piedmont Triad, the
university enrolls over 6,000 students, employs more than 400 full time
faculty members, and offers 42 baccalaureate degrees and five master's
degrees. WSSU seeks an energetic and dynamic individual to serve as an
Associate Professor in the masters Rehabilitation Counseling program in the
School of Education and Human Performance and Sports Sciences.

Salary:
