 The College of Continuing and Professional Studies at Mercer
University-Atlanta invites applications for an Assistant Professor of
Rehabilitation Counseling, a nine month, tenure-track position in the
Department of Counseling and Human Sciences beginning August 1, 2013.
The successful candidate will assume responsibilities as the Associate
Program Coordinator for the newly established Master of Science in
Rehabilitation Counseling program. <br>

Requirements for the
position include certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
(CRC), evidence of excellence in teaching, evidence of potential for
establishing a successful record of research and publication,
administrative experience, and professional experience in the counseling
field. Responsibilities include: teaching three courses each
semester at the graduate level in traditional and non-traditional
formats; administrative duties associated with the Associate Program
Coordinator position; continuing an active research, publication, and
presentation agenda; seeking external funding; student advising;
serving on department and college committees; and contributing to the
university's mission. <br>

Applicants must have earned a doctoral
degree in Counselor Education and Supervision by August 1, 2013 from a
regionally accredited university/college and preferably from a CACREP
or CORE accredited program; must have experience with diverse
populations in a counseling setting; and must be qualified to teach core
counseling courses in the counseling programs. Preference will be given
to candidates who are fully licensed as a Licensed Professional
Counselor in the State of Georgia or who are license eligible.
Candidates must be familiar with CACREP and CORE standards. <br>

Established in 1833, Mercer University is a private, comprehensive
institution of more than 8300 students enrolled in 11 colleges and
schools with campuses located in Macon, Atlanta, and Savannah and
regional academic centers located throughout the state of Georgia. <br>

The College of Continuing and Professional Studies offers
undergraduate and graduate programs, including the counseling program in
the
Department of Counseling and Human Sciences. The counseling program
offers Master's degrees in clinical mental health counseling, school
counseling, and certified rehabilitation counseling (beginning August,
2013) as well as the Ed.S. in School Counseling and the Ph.D. in
Counselor Education and Supervision. <br>
