Career Area Research – Statistical analysis in Health Studies 

Job Description: Digital system is seeking a senior statistician, who works
closely with government and other clients and provides high level consulting
services and management oversight for specific projects that involve
statistical programming; data extraction; mapping; and custom reporting.
Strong knowledge in statistical analysis in epidemiology and medical data,
such as categorical analysis, regression analysis, surveys analysis,
survival analysis and longitudinal data analysis is essential. Experiences
consulting with non-statisticians in model design, hypothesis testing,
program evaluation, result interpretation are also required. Must have
abilities:

·         Act as lead statistician main interaction with clients and
programmers. Make sure that the study design and programmers get correct
specifications and data at appropriate time. 

·         Create SAS, R or other programs and producing outputs to support
the analysis and reporting of the analysis. 

·         Program standard and custom data listings, summary tables, and
graphs in statistical analysis. 

·         Extract data from different database and creating SAS, R or other
datasets. Evaluate, and finalize the extraction, mapping, and macro
development requirements. 

·         Ensure timely delivery of programming outputs for various
submissions. 

·         Collaborate with the statisticians, epidemiologists, data
managers, and clinicians to resolve study design, specifications and data
related issues.

·         Education/ Experience: Ph.D. in statistics/biostatistics with 2
years or more experience, Masters with 7 years or more experience in the
epidemiology studies.  

Knowledge of SAS software, R or Splus, including macros programs
development, and awareness of current features in the software with
excellent programming skills are required. Knowledge of additional
programming languages, such as, FORTRAN, C ++, Visual Basic, Oracle, Java
etc., would be a plus.  Aptitude for "Look and feel for software" would be
desirable. 

 

 

Position:   Java Developer (Junior)

Location:  Chevy Chase, MD

Duration:  Full time (permanent)

Responsibility: 

 

Ø  Design and develop software applications/systems according to
specifications 

Ø  Consults with Sr. Java Architect on potential software solutions for
business specifications 

Ø  Provides support to the software development leads (Senior Developer)
during the design portion of the SDLC 

Ø  Support and troubleshoot software systems as required, optimizing
performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and
solutions 

Ø  Develop appropriate software documentation 

Ø  Complete comprehensive unit testing on all developed/enhanced software 

Ø  Works on one or more projects; may work as a project leader 

Ø  Works on moderate to complex projects 

Ø  Provides direction tools, technical and process support to less senior
developers

Ø  Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people.

Ø  Independent - Self Starter, resourceful, but not afraid to ask questions
when necessary.

Ø  Ability to multitask and adapt to rapidly changing priorities

Ø  Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and develop interface.

Ø  Demonstrate advance knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs,
standards and best practices 

Ø  Demonstrate advance knowledge of development methodologies, software
design and design patterns, integration standards as well as its
applicability at coding and testing cycles. 

Ø  Demonstrate advance knowledge of software engineering best practices such
as: versioning and versioning control, software packaging and software
release management 

Ø  Demonstrate advance knowledge of the application of development domain
areas and specific technologies and tool set

 

Requirement:

Ø  1+ year development experience with Java

Ø  Java (JSP, JavaScript and EJB) 

Ø  Spring, Struts

Ø  Hibernate, Oracle 11G 

Ø  Apple programming experience plus

Ø  Android programming experience plus 

Ø  Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer
engineering, Mathematics or comparable work experience.
