transgender while servicing as American University�s student body president/ Prior to coming to HRC, Sarah worked on LGBTQ equality at the Center for American Progress and was the first trans woman to serve as a White House intern. In 2016, Sarah became the
first openly transgender person to address a major party political convention when she spoke at the Democratic National Convention.</span></p>

</span><i><span style="font-size: 14pt;">American Journal of Bioethics. </span></i><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In her 2015 book,
</span><i><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Contesting Intersex: The Dubious Diagnosis,
</span></i><span style="font-size: 14pt;">she explores how intersex is defined, experienced, and contested in contemporary U.S. society.
