Abstract: Information security in the present day is highly centralized, i.e. users have to trust third parties to ensure that their data is encrypted. Web 3.0 eliminates this problem entirely by removing the centralized power and using other methods of verification to determine the accuracy of information on the internet. However, a lack of data ownership isn't specific to the internet. Hundreds of millions of data breaches occur every year, including those carried out by social engineers; when a sense of urgency is created, users don't ask themselves "is this person phishing me?" and as humans regularly think about many things at once, it is easy for them to leave their personal belongings lying around, much less forget to encrypt their plaintext messages. The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced a surge in internet activity. In addition to an increase in time spent on social media, jobs and learning institutions have taken online-only platforms. A mass migration to online work and education renders a demand for trust, validation, and work-context management. Once knowledge and skills are acquired, they are permanent and cannot be transferred, duplicated, or stolen; users have complete ownership of their knowledge and skills, as they are non-fungible. Bio: Christiana Chamon Garcia received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, Houston, TX, USA, in 2017 and the M.S. and and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, in 2020 and 2022, respectively. She is an Instructional Assistant Professor for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. In 2016 she was a Hardware Design Intern and in 2017 a Product Management Intern with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In 2022, she was an Applications Engineer at Vidatronic Inc. Her research interests include unconditional (information-theoretic) security over the wire, unconditionally secure electronics design, noise-based logic, human-computer interaction, challenging scientific dogma, analog electronics design for security applications, and engineering education. Dr. Garcia is a 2020-2021 Ebensberger Fellow and a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), and Golden Key International Honor Society. ________________________________________________________________________________ Microsoft Teams meeting Join on your computer, mobile app or room device Click here to join the meeting< https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_ZmVjMDJkMWQtMjk0ZC00MDMyLWFhMGItZWUwOGZiNmNmMDE1%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22f3308007-477c-4a70-8889-34611817c55a%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22685c3f4f-29d5-4141-ada5-0fdeab8480e4%22%7d > Meeting ID: 238 917 745 490 Passcode: 7LpKPi Download Teams< https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app > | Join on the web< https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-teams/join-a-meeting > Or call in (audio only) +1 614-706-6572,,906934296#<tel:+16147066572,,906934296#> United States, Columbus Phone Conference ID: 906 934 296# Find a local number< https://dialin.teams.microsoft.com/8f5f7319-0053-4423-a154-4f8b6e7fb7dd?id=906934296 > | Reset PIN< https://dialin.teams.microsoft.com/usp/pstnconferencing > [ https://www.ohio.edu/sites/default/files/2018-11/invite_logo_teams.jpg ] If you encounter issues with this meeting, please visit the Help link.
