Principle Accountabilities: 1. Establishes and maintains ongoing electrical distribution system reliability programs to provide continuous service to plant facilities. 2. Insures reliability of I & E equipment in order to provide continuous operation of plant facilities. 3. Assumes responsibility for design and installation during projects to insure safe & proper installation. 4. Provides effective interface with Engineering on Capital Projects. 5. Provide direction to all levels of supervision regarding the operation, repair and application of electrical systems and equipment in the plant as it pertains to reliability and safety. 6. Provide guidance to management on safety and plant requirements regarding purchase of large dollar items, major equipment repair procedures, budget requirements and contractual agreements. Mechanical Reliability Engineer : Provide mechanical engineering support in both a continuous and batch chemical processing environment to improve plant reliability. Support operations by troubleshooting problems, recommending and implementing repair techniques, and recommending and implementing system and equipment improvements using problem solving techniques of failure and root cause analysis. Implement and manage mechanical integrity initiatives and preventive and predictive maintenance techniques to improve plant safety, reliability, and operating costs. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Implement mechanical integrity and mechanical reliability across the plant. Design and implement solutions in order to drive reliability improvements. 2. Ensure predictive and preventive maintenance activities and frequencies are appropriate for all equipment based on equipment criticality and failure history. 3. Identify equipment problems and recommend appropriate measures to control, manage and correct issues 4. Provide technical oversight to field repair and/or modifications, including liaison with vendor and contractor personnel. 5. Manage equipment and system failure analysis process using informal and formal techniques of problem solving, such as, brain storming, 5W's-H, Fishbone Diagram, Difference Method, and others. 6. Use failure analysis and root cause analysis results to develop and implement corrective actions and improvement plans. Use techniques, such as, Pareto Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Cause-Effect Mapping, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis in root cause analysis and corrective action plan development. 7. Work as a team member on the plant's inspector group to ensure appropriate inspection technologies are being used and assess quality of inspection plans. Review inspection reports and analyze data to determine fitness for service, quality of inspection, appropriate inspection interval, etc. 8. Lead reliability improvement teams. 9. Purchase materials and outside services required to maintain production and prevent unscheduled interruption in plant services. 10. Contract with outside services to provide labor and material for performing specific maintenance work. 11. Schedule and attend appropriate training of mechanical engineer to maintain expertise in specialized technical fields such as welding, NDT inspection, asbestos abatement, etc. 12. Implement Maintenance Best Practices for value added cost control through the use of Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques, Risk Based Inspection guidance, use of SAP and other techniques, as necessary. 13. Develop and implement repair and capital projects for plant improvements. 14. Mentor technicians, planners and other engineers as needed. 15. Follow up on relevant recommendations from audits. Process Engineer The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide the day to day process engineering support of the plant operations, monitor key process parameters, and identify process optimization/improvement opportunities. There will also be interaction with project engineering, maintenance and plant management personnel. Therefore this position must maintain a strong working relationship with all groups to assure proper communication, direction and implementation of projects and requests. Duties: Day-to-day operations support of a specific operating unit. This includes learning key operating conditions and their impact on performance. Daily review and making necessary adjustments to the conditions based on rate and other influencing factors. Works closely with operators to optimize the plant. Assist production in troubleshooting of process problems. Monitor key parameters (material yield, energy, quality, capacity utilization, etc.) of all processes to maintain past gains and establish process optimization opportunities. Identify process optimization/improvement opportunities and provide necessary engineering to implement. This will include being MOC champion and project engineer. Provide technical support for major process outages and startups. Take the lead or assist in development, design, and coordination of feasibility studies, preliminary engineering and major process capital projects. Work with purchasing dept to order material, equipment, and service POs as necessary. Performs broad spectrum of activities in support of capital project execution including process and project design, process troubleshooting and construction engineering. Plans, scheduled, budgets and oversees activities in connection with the design and construction of projects. Designs and plans process improvement jobs, including estimating, overseeing field construction and liaison with production and outside contractors. Scopes projects for preparation of general layout and location drawings, design drawings and bills of material. Cost estimates and feasibility studies, justification of projects, specification and appropriate request documents, recommendation for purchased services and or equipment, evaluation of services and or equipment and construction. Consults with outside suppliers, contractors, engineers, operators, etc. to acquire information and to solve problems. Bias for action.
