Good morning! At tonight's (11/14) meeting at 7:30 in ARC 315, ACM will be hosting Dr. Ronaldo Vigo, who will be giving a talk on human behavior and its application to AI and robotics; his full abstract is below. Pizza will also be provided at the end of the meeting, so make sure to join us! Our room will still be open to study in on Thursday 6-8. ABSTRACT: In this talk I shall discuss performance features pertaining to human conceptual behavior that should be used to inform the ultimate goal of developing robots capable of emulating human intelligence. I will also explain why GIST (Generalized Invariance Structure Theory; Vigo, 2013, 2014, 2016) provides a promising theoretical framework for achieving this goal.
