This message is being sent on behalf of Dr. Cynthia Tindongan, Director of Thesis and Dissertation Services.

Dear Ohio University Graduate Student,

The following message concerns thesis and dissertation-based masters and doctoral students nearing the completion of their degrees. Given the forced closure of face to face classes and the inability of some students to present their work in the traditional defense, we are providing the following guidance on Thesis and Dissertations.

Graduate Thesis and Dissertation and Program Capstone Alternative Defense Options
Please direct all questions regarding defense scheduling and alternative defense options to your primary thesis or capstone advisor.

Graduate Thesis and Program Capstone Registration Requirements

Deadlines for spring 2020 graduation will not change. Since the semester is not being extended, the time necessary to review and process all documents will need to be maintained.

Students who will meet deadlines for spring 2020 graduation are required to be registered for at least one credit hour in spring term.

Students who registered for spring semester anticipating a spring defense have the option to delay their defense and meet summer defense deadlines without registering for summer credit.
Students who are planning to meet summer defense deadlines or early for fall defense deadlines but are not registered in spring semester must register for at least one credit hour in summer term.
