Dear STEM department/program chairs,


Today I received the notice below about DAAD RISE Worldwide, a program through which U.S. STEM research groups, labs, and doctoral students "can apply to host a well-qualified student from Germany as a research intern to assist with a proposed project." The program then fully funds selected students as they work on a project in the U.S. during summer 2023. OHIO students have had great success in the DAAD RISE program that takes them to Germany for summer research internships; this program is basically the inverse of that. Would you be willing to publicize this great opportunity with STEM graduate students, research groups, and labs? Proposals for internships are due October 15.

Dear friends and partners of the RISE program,



I hope this email finds you well. At the moment, we are preparing the next call for project offers and for applications in the RISE programs for summer 2023.

Today, I want to advertise our RISE Worldwide Program. We would be happy to see some offers from your university for German interns in our database. This program can be a very good way for your university to strengthen the exchange network with Germany. Hosting a German research intern can motivate your students to go abroad for an internship in Germany.



RISE worldwide is starting the call for offers on September 1st : Research groups, laboratories and doctoral students can apply to host a motivated and well-qualified student from Germany as a research intern to assist with a proposed project.  Students participating in this program come from the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering, computer science, medicine, or a closely related field, and they all receive a DAAD scholarship to help cover living expenses and travel costs.

Deadline: October 15, 2022.



Between November 1 and December 15, 2022 the database opens for the German students and each student may apply for up to three internship projects. The prospective hosts are then asked to provide DAAD with their quality assessment of the applications for their projects (similar to RISE Germany and Professional).
