Thus\, res earch in quantum cryptography is of great importance for near-term applica tions. However\, traditional security analysis of quantum cryptography ass umes that the eavesdropper is omnipotent\, with her "abilities" only limit ed by the laws of quantum physics. This is unrealistic since the eavesdrop per will be subject to certain reasonable limitations\, same as the commun ication parties. In this seminar I will mainly discuss my work on "Restric ted Eavesdropping Analysis of Quantum Cryptography"\, which extended tradi tional quantum cryptography analysis to analyze a more realistic scenario where the eavesdropper is with a limited power collection ability. Such a restricted-eavesdropping scenario is highly applicable to wireless links s uch as microwave or free space optics ones. We will start from the theory model of a quantum wiretap channel to establish lower bounds and upper bou nds based on Hashing Inequality and Relative Entropy of Entanglement. Appl ications to realistic channel conditions will also be introduced where the eavesdropping and defense strategies from both sides are investigated. An alytical and numerical conclusions will be discussed during the seminar.\n \nBio:\nZiwen Pan obtained his Ph.D. degree at the Electrical & Computer E ngineering department from the University of Arizona in 2022. His major re search work focuses on quantum communication/cryptography\, including secu rity analysis of generic quantum cryptography schemes and protocol designs for quantum key distributions. He has also worked on other topics such as entanglement-assisted communication\, quantum simulation and microtoroids . Additionally\, he is experienced in classical communications research\, and he is currently working on Qualcomm chipsets testing regarding IEEE st andards on Wi-Fi\, Bluetooth\, etc. He has published in and served as a re viewer for multiple Optica (formerly OSA)\, IEEE and APS journals.\n\nIn h is free time\, Ziwen is a passionate badminton and table tennis player. Co me join a game with him!\n\n______________________________________________ __________________________________\nMicrosoft Teams meeting\nJoin on your computer\, mobile app or room device\nClick here to join the meeting
