Dear Emeriti: In recent weeks the University has begun to require a card swipe to access buildings on campus, including Alden Library. The card to swipe is your Faculty/Staff card but you need to be authorized first of all. Authorization starts with your college, which will send your information to Access Control. Send your college the following information: Your name Your email Your PID number (which is the number on your Faculty/Staff card which starts with a P and is followed by zeros and then digits) The name of the building to which you want access, such as an office building Access to Alden Library is included with access to a building such as an office building. Library stacks are closed due to COVID. Materials can be requested using the Request button in ALICE. Materials can then be picked up at pick-up shelves on the second floor of Alden. For information about libraries on regional campuses, go to https://www.ohio.edu/library/coronavirus. The information about pick-up states the procedure is for current faculty. There has been some question about pick-up for emeriti faculty. The Emeriti Association will work to confirm that emeriti can also pick-up items.
