Followup reminder that Tom Franz ( franz at ohio.edu
) needs your RSVP for next
week's luncheon to provide a head count for the OU Inn. Please email him
no later than tomorrow. We need 50 paying members minimally per contract
with the OU Inn.

We will be having a wonderful presentation from Boone Troyer who with his
staff at the Athens County Convention and Visitors Bureau pulled off a
wonderful 5 day visit of the 3/4 sized replica of the Vietnam War Memorial
Wall. He will be discussing that event held last summer as well as other
activities.

Please welcome Boone Troyer, Executive Director of the Athens County
Convention and Visitors Bureau. Boone began serving as the director for the
ACCVB during some tough times for the organization and during the COVID-19
pandemic. He has been in his current role now for one year. Prior to that,
he served at the bureau as the partnership engagement manager working
directly with several tourism sectors in our community and serving as a
major public relations conduit for the bureau and businesses in our area.
Boone has also previously served as the Athens City Arts, Parks and
Recreation Child Program Director, taught undergraduate coursework at Ohio
University, and Coached Track and Field specifically the pole vault event
for the Bobcats. Boone currently coaches track and field at Athens High
School. Outside of work, he enjoys spending his spare time with his two
young daughters (Savannah 6 and Charlotte 3), riding his mountain bike, and
fishing the Hocking and Ohio rivers. Again, please welcome Boone Troyer.

See you next week,

Program Chair for OU Emeriti
