GIS Instructional Laboratory Administrator, Chicago State University
The Department of  Geography, Sociology, History, African American Studies and Anthropology at Chicago State University invites applications for the position of GIS instructional laboratory administrator. Responsibilities/duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the GIS instructional laboratory, including software and hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and interaction with the University's Instructional Technology Division; teaching one course per semester in the Department's Graduate Certificate GIS program; facilitating student and faculty GIS projects; supporting GIS faculty and administrative computers.
Qualifications: Master's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science  or related field; familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems; knowledge of and ability to use ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS for Server, and ERDAS Imagine; knowledge of Web GIS principles and applications; demonstrated ability to solve computer programming, networking and security issues in a GIS environment;  previous experience supporting GIS application and instruction and computer administration; knowledge of  or experience with database design and implementation; familiarity with GPS field measurements and post-processing differential corrections; python programming experience; additional programming language experience desirable.
