Subject: Graduate Research Assistantships at ISU

The Department of Geosciences, Geotechnology Program at Idaho State University ( http://gisci.isu.edu/ 
) is seeking several graduate research assistants at either the Masters or Ph.D. level in the following areas:
•     Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) – delve in to the emerging technologies and research applications of UAS data collection, image processing and analysis.
•     Ecosystem Services – model and visualize social-ecological processes for mid-sized cities under pressures of climate change and urban growth.
•     Virtual Watershed – explore interdisciplinary watershed research through developing innovative visualizations that support advanced analysis and modeling.
Requirements:
•       -  Applicants should have a degree in geography, geology, geomatics, environmental science, computer science, or related field.
•         -Related work experience that demonstrates the ability to utilize GIS and remote sensing technology for research.
•        - Must meet the graduate student entrance requirements for the Masters of Geographic Information Science or Ph.D in Engineering and Applied Science and be accepted into the MGIS or PhD program in ISU’s Department of Geosciences.
•        - Excellent oral communication and writing skills.
Position Details: Successful applicants will work 20 hrs/week during the semester and full-time during the summer. GRA positions include a tuition waiver.
Starting Date: Fall 2015, although summer start dates may be available.
