Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey is seeking a two year Research Fellow (one year with probable extension for an additional year) to support research in Wildlife Management and Recreational Planning. The anticipated start date will be on or around April 15, 2016. Description: The University, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW), seeks a Research Fellow to conduct and coordinate the research operations of a recently funded 2-year DFW grant project. The grant focuses on surveying and understanding users of New Jersey’s 121 Wildlife Management Areas, covering 345,000 acres throughout the state. The primary role of this position is to work with key project personnel from Stockton University and NJDFW to conduct and coordinate on-site surveys across the state, organize, manage, and analyze data, and prepare final reports and documents. Responsibilities include: - -Coordinating and conducting on-site interviews at designated Wildlife Management Areas across the state of New Jersey (including weekends) - -Coordinating and supervising technicians/students in the field - -Coordinating and facilitating several focus groups and stakeholder meetings throughout the study - -Collecting, organizing and maintaining project database - -Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis of various data sources - -Preparing and writing research reports for internal and external project meetings - -Preparing, writing and presenting research reports and manuscripts for publication and conference presentations. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Master’s, Ph.D., or be ABD in Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, Environmental Studies, Geography, Planning, or Recreation Management; experience with field work, data collection and management, statistics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), report writing, and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be willing to work weekends, travel extensively across the state, and endure year-round, inclement weather conditions in the field.
