David Broder, D.O, HPF Class of 1995, was recently appointed by Larry Wickless, D.O., President of the American Osteopathic Association, to a three-year term on the AOA's Council on Osteopathic Postdoctoral Training Institutions (COPTI). COPTI is responsible for overseeing the accreditation process for OPTIs, which oversee all osteopathic GME. COPTI also makes recommendations with regards to standards and policies for OPTIs. COPTI reports directly to the AOA's Bureau of Education. Dr. Broder serves as Associate Dean for Postdoctoral Education at the New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. This past week, Dr. Broder presented a session on the Role of the AOA in Health Policy to the HPF Class of 2010 during their Orientation at NYCOM August 19-23 (bios and photos of the Class of 2010 to follow).
