Dear IT Graduates, As many of you know, I am involved in a National Science Foundation GK-12 grant that is examining the use of virtual-world-based games to teach standards-based science concepts to middle school students in Appalachia. On Thursday evening at 6:00pm, my grant team will host the first of several opportunities to see the games developed and to offer critique and comments or questions. This link will take you to the announcement that is being sent campus wide. http://vital.cs.ohiou.edu/gamenight.html This link is information about the grant and the work of the grant. http://vital.cs.ohiou.edu/steam.html I hope some of you will be able to attend and see the work concerning virtual learning environments as this is a very "ripe" field for research concerning cognition and education. The presentation will be approximately 1 hour.
