Graduates, See the note below and the attachments. Dr. Franklin ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Bikowski, Dawn < bikowski at ohio.edu > Date: Sat, Aug 25, 2012 at 9:36 PM Subject: ELIP Courses for Graduate Students Fall 2012-13 Dear Departments, This message is regarding courses offered in the *English Language Improvement Program (ELIP)* at Ohio University. Please distribute this message to all department faculty, staff, and students who might find it helpful. Both American and international graduate students can take ELIP courses to assist them in developing their writing and presentation/oral skills. ELIP assignments are discipline specific, and the courses provide a significant amount of one-on-one attention. The courses are for-credit and do not affect GPA as long as credit is attained. The *ELIP Graduate Writing Center* has walk-in hours for Graduate Students wanting assistance with their writing. Fall Semester hours are: *T Th 6:00 - 9:00 pm* *Gordy 205* If you would like more detailed information, please see the attachments or contact me personally. The courses and times are listed below. Best of luck with the beginning of the semester, Dawn Bikowski bikowski at ohio.edu *Fall Semester 2012-13* *Writing for Research—Thesis/Dissertation ELIP 5160** – 2-3 credit hours* *Thursday 5:15-7:05pm (Class #2539), Ellis 108* * * *Academic Writing in Graduate Studies ELIP 5140 ** – 2**-3** credit hours* *Tuesday 3:05-4:55pm (Class #2538), Ellis 108* * * *Graduate Reading and Writing ELIP 5120** – 2**-3** credit hours* *Monday 5:15-7:05pm (Class #2535), Ellis 108 * * * *Critical Reading and Analysis ELIP 5100** – 2**-3** credit hours* *Tuesdays 5:15-7:05pm **Class #15528), Gordy 207 * * * *English Pronunciation ELIP 5200** – 2**-3** credit hours* *Class Time Arranged according to Students' Schedules (Class #2540) *(For international students) * * *Oral Communication in Graduate Studies ELIP 5300** – 2**-3** credit hours * * Wednesday 5:15-7:05pm (Class #2546), Ellis 109 * (For international students) ********************************************** * Linguistics Department** **Dawn Bikowski, PhD* Director, English Language Improvement Program bikowski at ohio.edu • T: 740.593.0201 Gordy Hall 367 • Athens OH 45701 www.ohio.edu • http://www.ohio.edu/linguistics/elip -- *~~~~~~The best student-centered learning *experience in America~~~~ Dr. Teresa Franklin Professor, Instructional Technology Instructional Technology Program Coordinator 313D McCracken Hall Dept.
