Hello All, Many of you have either had a class with Jamie as she worked on her PHD or had her as your instructor for a class you took in the MED program. I thought you might be interested to know... see her note below: I'm a *Blended Learning Advisor, Designer and E-learning specialist (BLADE) for the School of Education at the University of Western Sydney* (though we are going through a huge re-brand and will be Western Sydney University by the end of the month). I'm really enjoying my job so far - I have a good time working one-on-one with staff and I get to pick up new skills all the time through troubleshooting (which I love) and even get to sneak in some visual design work (which I also enjoy). They have equipped me with a MacBook Pro, an iPad, an Apple monitor and the entire Adobe Suite (the Adobe Creative Suite alone is enough to entice me to work for free, but the salary isn't too shabby). *Congrats on your new job -- but wait there is more!!!!!!* We (Jamie and Aaron) got married the morning of July 6 at Waimanalo Beach on Oahu - and it was awesome :) It was the first time our families had met in person (though they felt like they were old friends, thanks to Facebook), and we had a blast. It was just 10 of us on a beach - we scripted the ceremony, and Aaron's brother officiated. My sister and both sets of parents also spoke, so everyone got to participate. No fussy planning or coordinating - we all went to a luau for the reception that night. It was exactly what we wanted - all fun and love and no stress! And the rest of the time was just an amazing vacation! We hung out with our families on Oahu and then Aaron and I went on to visit Kauai and the big island of Hawai'i. Our wedding photos are supposed to take about 3 months and the videographer said the video would be 4-6 months, so I don't have those to share yet. We did work a GoPro into our wedding budget, though (priorities!) and I put together my own video of our trip: https://youtu.be/-FO-59dtWYA Please send your congratulations to Jamie and Aaron! (And the video is awesome! :) Best wishes, Dr. Franklin *"A teacher affects eternity; [she]he can never tell where the influence stops." - Henry Adams*Dr. Teresa Franklin Professor Emerita, Educational Studies-Instructional Technology Fulbright Research Scholar to Turkey 2013-14 Department of Educational Studies The Gladys W. and David H.
