Hello Graduates, Please see the call for chapters in a Mobile Learning book that I am guest editing. We are seeking information concerning underlying theory that will improve learning in particular (understand design processes, coding expertise needed, development issues, appropriate technologies, and the implementation guidelines for theory and research design development within a variety of contexts.). It does not have to take place in a K-12 school, could be a hospital, fire department, training experiences, etc. Some you have dissertations on this or in the works that could be useful to this book — so send them in! Best wishes, Dr. Franklin "A teacher affects eternity; [she]he can never tell where the influence stops." - Henry Adams Dr. Teresa Franklin Professor Emerita Educational Studies-Instructional Technology The OHIO Group CAEP International Committee Fulbright Research Scholar to Turkey 2013-14 The Gladys W. and David H. International Journal of Computer Games Technology Mobile Games for Learning: Design, Development, and Application As mobile games become increasingly popular, many efforts have been exerted on their design, development and application in the context of learning. Research-based knowledge and understanding of mobile learning games have led some educators to focus on the practices or ‘how-to’ of mobile games in classroom teaching. However, much research remains to be undertaken and shared in order to understand design processes, coding expertise needed, development issues, appropriate technologies, and the implementation guidelines for theory and research design development within a variety of contexts. We invite original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate continuing efforts to explore mobile learning games, focusing on informal learning, in-job training and embedded professional development as well as in classroom settings. We are particularly interested in articles describing strategies for accessible development, mobile learning theories, design strategies, research methodology and effective theory development underpinning the improvement of players’ learning. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: > Recent developments in mobile learning games research > Latest technologies for designing mobile leaning games for industry, higher education and K-12 > Advances in design and development processes for mobile learning games > Advances in researching the impact of mobile learning games > Research on how to use mobile learning games in informal spaces Proposal Due Friday, 6 May 2016 Manuscript Due Friday, 5 August 2016 First Round of Reviews Friday, 14 October 2016 Publication Date Friday, 23 December 2016 Lead Guest Editor Youngkyun Baek, Department of Educational Technology, Boise State University, Boise, ID 83725, USA youngkyunbaek at boisestate.edu <mailto: youngkyunbaek at boisestate.edu > Guest Editors Teresa Franklin, Department of Educational Studies, Ohio University, Athens, OH 45701 USA franklit at ohio.edu <mailto: franklit at ohio.edu > David Gibson, Curtin Teaching and Learning, Curtin University, Kent St, Bentley WA 6102, Australia David.c.gibson at curtin.edu.au <mailto: David.c.gibson at curtin.edu.au > Seongbaeg Kim, Department of Computer Education, Jeju National University of Education, Jeju City, South Korea sbkim at jejunu.ac.kr <mailto: sbkim at jejunu.ac.kr > Nicola Whitton, Faculty of Education, Manchester Metropolitan University, All Saints, Manchester, UK M15 6BH n.whitton at mmu.ac.uk <mailto: n.whitton at mmu.ac.uk > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
