[Ocees] A message from the Roosenburgs

    Dear OCCES Community:

Below is a message from Willem Roosenburg about events planned for Selinde:


First, Kate, Dirk, and I want to express our extreme gratitude for the outpouring of compassion and generosity from the department that all have expressed. We are heart-warmed during this challenging time and are grateful for all the friends who are helping chart the new course of our lives. Additionally, the stories that people have posted, despite not being able to get through all of them yet, are endearing and help us realize what an impact she made on those around her.

Here are the details of the services for Lindy this Saturday – Please distribute widely to the department and the community.

>, followed by a 1pm procession along S. Shannon Ave in Athens, OH. If you want to add your thoughts to the memorial, please reach out to a family member.

The funeral procession will begin with wildland fire trucks from the DNR Division of Forestry, starting at 100 May Avenue. The trucks will proceed north on May to Lincoln St, turn west (left), then south (left) on S Shannon. Cars may join the procession along May or Shannon Avenues.   Community members are welcome to drive or walk by on S. Shannon Avenue, wearing masks and maintaining a safe distance. The family will be front of 69 S. Shannon Ave, Athens OH to acknowledge those passing.​

We will have bonfire gathering sometime in June at the family farm when all of our friends and family have been vaccinated and can safely gather, hug and sing songs in Selinde's memory.
