Howdy Folks,

Our Ecolunch speaker tomorrow is Dr. Myrna Sheldon.  Dr. Sheldon is a member of the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) here at Ohio University.  She earned her Ph.D. with Janet Browne at Harvard University, in the History of Science. You may recall that Dr. Browne was our OCEES Darwin Speaker in 2020.

The title for her talk:

"Stephen Jay Gould and the Fight for a Democratic Science”

Dr. Sheldon also told me our email conversations that her talk will consider the intersection of evolution and religion, and that she is offering a course on science & religion in the spring that may be of interest to some OCEES students.

The talk will be on Teams only (not in 159 Irvine).
