[Ocees] Ecolunch today is cancelled

Howdy folks,

There is no Ecolunch today.  We have many open spots remaining this semester, so if you’d like to present your research let me know ( kuchta at ohio.edu

>).  Every MS student has to give at least one EcoLunch, and every PhD student has to give three of them.  It is better to space them out over time, of course.

As a special note: we encourage talks on works in progress. I definitely understand the temptation to focus on completed projects, but that is what a thesis defense is for. Talks on research in progress are great because they provide an opportunity for feedback while there is still time for feedback to be helpful. It is useful for developing and clarifying ideas and results in figures that can be recycled for upcoming grant proposals, talks, and papers. We’re all friends and it’s a small group, so don’t be shy.  Faculty are also encouraged to talk about their research, or what exciting is going on in their lab.
